fortysomething

fortysomething's Alan Kennedy and Harry James have been working on their harmonies since they met in high school, almost 30 years ago.

From gigs in local coffee shops to opening for Brian Roman at Roy Thompson Hall, fortysomething's reputation for recreating the sensibilities of the Everly Brothers, the Beatles and a great sound of their own, has a growing contingent of fans who show up anywhere the lads end up playing. "Their sound is so right, you can't help but come away feeling great."

Markham Concert Band

The Band will be performing their 31st concert season.  You can expect an extra special variety of music, contemporary pieces, marches, show tunes, light classics and, occasionally, a little jazz - the kind of music that appeals to any audience.  Special guest performers are featured at many of the concerts.

The Markham Concert Band was formed in 1978, and with over 65 members, it is one of the largest community bands in Canada! Band members include young and old from many fields of endeavour.  All brought together with one purpose in mind - to serve the community with the best in concert band music.

Cobra Kings

The award winning Cobra Kings! A highly talented, entertaining & always exciting powerhouse 5 member band performing hits from genres such as: Classic R&B, Soul, Reggae, Classic Rock, Blues, Funk & their own original music with conviction, splendor & passion.

Thornhill Swing Band

The Thornhill Swing Band is an 18 piece Dance Band modeled after the classic format of the bands of Glenn Miller, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and the many other bands of the Big Band Era. As such, the band's musical selections always contain many well known classic tunes which reflect those familiar sounds.

Members of the Thornhill Swing Band are Professional and Semi-Professional musicians from the surrounding Greater Toronto Area all sharing a love of performing Big Band music.

Project Phoenix

Project Phoenix is Toronto's premier dance, funk and R&B band, honouring the greats of old school dance and funk, balanced with funky contemporary grooves. They deliver a show that will flood your senses with a fullness that only a ten piece band can. Funky rhythms, tight horns and powerful vocals drive the desire to party.

King of Nothing

King of Nothing plays an eclectic mix of ‘cool soulful pop music’, based on a repertoire spanning several decades and including recognizable (but not overplayed) songs. The band’s unique sound is based on distinct lead vocals, rich harmonies, a groove-oriented rhythm section, and dynamic and colorful sax, guitar and piano leads.

Cadence

Consist of Braedon (20) on fiddle, guitar; Devynn (18) on fiddle, guitar, step dancing and vocals; Lauren (18) on fiddle, step dancing and vocals, Jani (mom) on percussion and vocals and Don (dad) on piano and vocals. Members of the group have played in various festivals and fairs in Quebec, Ontario and Nova Scotia and they have a CD out called "Out and about" filled with a variety of Irish, Scottish and Old Tyme Canadian Fiddle tunes and includes the title track, an original song. The Braedon, Devynn and Lauren have been known to perform also as "On Q" as well.

Four professional vocalists - Solveig Barber, Sheila Fisher, Vern Kennedy and Harvey Patterson with accompaniment by pianist par excellence, Bruce Harvey. Performing songs ranging from funny and memorable WWII songs to Brian Seltzer's version of Gettin' In the Mood, and hits by Canadian composers.

Ron Nater Band

The Ron Nater Band is ready to entertain you with its new rock-filled show to dance the night away.

GWood

Gwood is a high energy classic rock n roll band that has been rocking community festivals and clubs from downtown Toronto to Markham for over two years now.  Comprised of some original musicians and singers who have played venues in Yorkville and London, England, as well as  Toronto's El Mocambo, GWood has a style and spirit that is infectious and gets its audience up dancing.

 

Scott Driscoll

The band’s influences are wide ranging and include John Lennon, Paul McCartney, Al Green, Badfinger, Bruce Springsteen, Colin James, Doobie Brothers,  The Eagles, Elvis Costello, Five for Fighting, John Mayer, Marvin Gaye, Tom Petty, INXS, Train, and U2 and many more.

Farrucas Duo - Latin Fusion

Latin Duo - FARRUCAS - Laura Spada (Toronto, Canada) and Jorge Cuamacás (Ecuador, South America) is the latest addition to the exciting and exhilarating world of Latin Fusion. With their cultural mixture of rhythms and an extensive variety of instruments used in studio recording and public performances, they have allowed themselves to deliver an exotic flavour to their public. With four years of existence, (although being freelance musicians for most of their entire lives), Laura Spada (1987) and Jorge Cuamacás (1974) are characterized as the execution of different types of rhythms which originate from diverse cultures and nationalities.
