Morgan Park
Bring the kids to the Children's Village in Morgan Park. The fun begins 6 pm Friday, continues Saturday from 10 am until 9 pm and Sunday from 10 am until 6 pm.
Morgan Park is located one block east of Markham Main Street. The park may be accessed from Main Street through the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church parking lot. Follow the signs to the fun and games.
Organized by the Grace Church, Morgan Park has carnival rides, a petting zoo, games for young and old, along with lots of food and refreshments. As an added bonus, the Morgan Park Pool will be open for FREE swimming Saturday 1 to 7 pm only.
Fun for the Whole Family Comes True
While many venues promote the idea of “fun for the whole family”, a small travelling carnival is one of the few places that actually delivers on the promise.
Townsend’s Amusements brings the carnival to town in Morgan Park during the Markham Village Music Festival. With over a dozen rides, games and prizes galore, there is a lot for the whole family to enjoy. Watch the advertisements for special deals offered over the weekend.
Morgan Pool will be open Saturday for FREE swimming from 1 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Alex LaSalle’s Petting Pals delights young and old with the opportunity to visit the animals in their petting zoo on Saturday. There are young lamas, goats, rabbits and more.
Back again this year, Markham Fire & Emergency Services brings their new Fire Safety Trailer on Saturday as well so that the public has the chance to learn fire safety as it relates to the home.
The Children’s Village in Morgan Park is an opportunity to have fun in an old-fashioned way. No computers, wide screen TVs or iPods. Simply real, wind in your face, fun.
Sunday Jazz Worship & Picnic
Then, on Sunday, Grace Anglican Church continues the music theme with a Music Service on the lawns at 10:15 featuring Jazz music by recording artists Paul Neufeld and Quisha Wint. This will be followed by a BBQ Picnic and children’s games. Join Grace for worship, food, fun and games! Bring your lawn chair or blanket to sit on, invite your friends! Indoors if it rains!
